AOL to Offer Aol Instant
Messenger Users Free Phone Numbers
AOL is set to offer its instant-messaging users a free phone number to use for
incoming calls, and for a fee, the ability to call regular phones from the
software.
Warner Bros. is going to distribute movies, TV shows via BitTorrent
The companies did not specify a date but said the service will be offered
starting this summer.

prison
Jeanson James Ancheta, a member of the "Botmaster Underground" who pleaded
guilty in January to federal charges of conspiracy, fraud and damaging U.S.
government computers, was given the longest sentence ever for spreading computer
viruses and Spam
Plan for .xxx porn domain dropped
Internet regulators have rejected plans to create a domain for pornography
websites ending with the .xxx suffix.
Advocates of the exclusive domain had argued that it would make it easier for
web users to locate - or avoid - pornography online.
AOL is firing 1,300 of its US
call center staff because, it said, customers are now better equipped to
help themselves.
It is closing its Jacksonville, Florida centre and making further cuts in Ogden,
Utah and Tucson, Arizona.
Rensselaer Polytechnic has
signed a deal to build one of the top ten supercomputers in the world
Digital River was named as an
award recipient for Germany's Top Customer-Oriented Service Provider 2006 at
a ceremony held on May 4th in Dusseldorf. Digital River placed 14th in the
overall ranking and first in the IT and Telecommunications category.

Jeffrey Toback, a member of the NY Nassau County Legislature, said Google has
paid links to Web sites containing pornography involving minors. Google denied
the allegations and said the company takes numerous steps to prevent access to
child pornography.Jeffy has also planned this year to pursue a ban of toy guns
in the area.
